Farming Communities
Not all of the people in the area have chosen to settle in the busy towns. Some have chosen to live a simpler life in one of the four farming communities. Originally the farms were no more than a couple dozen occupants each, now some have grown into their own little villages.
One will not find as many traders as in the towns. However, if caught between towns during the night, one could easily find a place to hang their head or a meal.
Machin - The smallest of the local farms. Hundreds of years ago this farm was overrun by the armies of Aramatis, an evil mage bent on destruction. It and many of it's people were burned to the ground. The farm was believed to have been cursed due to this tragedy and sat untended for almost a hundred years. Now the farm is cared for by a small group of villagers.
Faiba - Named for the river on which it borders, Faiba has flourished by growing specialty items that cannot be grown in any other parts of Ophiuchus. People believe that because of it's close proximity to the river, Faiba has been able to refine it's irrigation system to perfection. This has allowed some of the juiciest fruits and ripest vegetables to be grown.
Runpa -Runpa farm seems quaint when people pass by, but it is far from that. It is often used by passing bandits who hide out there as nomads. Because of it's location far away from most things, and because the terrain is so hilly, the crops are limited, and Runpa specializes in animals, leaving their crop fields to grow feed. Runpa had been family held for many generations, but recently was sold to Ionatios Launceleyn.
Baisu - the largest farm in the area, Baisu has grown quite a reputation by providing the markets and the major with an abundance of good products. Should anything happen to the other three farms, Baisu could keep the area from going hungry.
