Miscellaneous Information

Below is a small gathering of miscellaneous information that you may find helpful when role-playing in Ophiuchus.

Currency

Items and services can be purchased or sold using "gold" and "coins". Ophiuchus does not have its own specific tender, nor is there a set fee for a specific item. The amount of money that a player has is based on how they create his or her character. If you want a rich character or a poor character then that is your choice. However, for sanity's sake, a sample value has been assigned to both gold and coins.

One gold is approximately five dollars (US); a coin is approximately one dollar (US). This is not set in stone, but a guide should you wish to involve money in your story line. For example, a drink at a bar might cost one to five coins and a modest room at an inn (depending on location) may run 10 to 100 gold.

Weather

Ophiuchus celebrates four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. While the entire land passes through each season respectively, some areas are more prone to cold (Geil) and others towards milder weather (Murdock). While realistically these changes are usually not possible with such a small distance, this is a fantasy setting.
