While we try to let creativity run rampant, we have come up with a small list of rules that we believe will make play enjoyable by everyone.
Community Rules
1. Please keep posting to a PG-13 level. If your thread is going to venture into the R rating (because of violence or narty behavior), please post so next to your thread title. Example: Tomorrow's Journey (R).
2. X rated, or excessive profanity is not allowed under any circumstances.
3. Post your correct threads in the correct boards. If you need help deciding where your post belongs, contact an administrator.
4. Treat one another with respect. Your characters don't have to get along, but please treat every community member with the same respect you would like to receive.
5. Mature and seasoned role-play does not equal arrogance. Proper title and authority will be given to those upon earning. Those who wish to turn this game into an ego trip or arrogance mission should seek play elsewhere. This is a fun community.
6. Spamming is not allowed. Spam our boards and you will be banned.
Character Creation Rules
1. An invincible character is not allowed. Your character must be capable of being damaged either physically or mentally.
2. No extreme regeneration. I.E. if your arm is cut off, it cannot re-grow instantly. Advanced healing is allowed, in that your character may be able to "sleep off" some injuries.
3. If you're an evil/bad character, be prepared to do some jail time if you're caught being bad/stealing, etc.
4. Magic is very powerful thing, but it too has it's limitations. Magic takes concentration and with overuse, you will eventually run out for a bit of time. The bigger of a spell you perform, the more it takes out of you. Magic will cause fatigue when used.
The following magic spells will not be allowed:
Invincibility/Immortality
Instant Death
Instant/Extreme Regeneration
If one of the above spells is used, other posters have the ability to ignore such spell.
5. Give some description to rare/custom to magic spells. Don't post "Sarah casts Booh-Bah" and expect everyone to know what that means. It's your rare spell, make the most of it.
Game Play Rules
1. No auto hitting/killing/moving without explicit permission from the author of the character you wish to hit/kill/move.
2. If you are writing a thread or storyline that, for continuity or dramatic purposes, must be set in one part of time/in one place/inclusive of specific characters/exclusive of specific characters and other things of the like, it must be dictated at the start of the thread. This is to allow those of us looking in at the thread to deem if it is appropriate to allow our characters into it without interrupting what has already been established. This will also be fair to the creators of the thread, allowing them to distinguish what elements they want in their storyline in a public manner, while specifics can be held on a more personal basis.
3. If you play multiple characters please close your post by listing the characters you are playing in that specific post. For example if you're responding as Julie and Brandon please put a tag similar to this at the bottom of your post:
- Julie the mage, Brandon the knight -
4. Quality over quantity. While there can be rewards for frequent story posts, the community as a whole is better served by well thought, well written posts. It would be better to see one fantastic post than ten two-line posts.
